I came across TED a while back, in the context of a tech talk on some technology thing (I forget what). Yesterday I looked over the site properly, and found a wealth of fantastically inspiring talks, which I’ll be working my way through over the coming weeks. It’s well worth your time to look around; there’s a huge range of topics, from Africa and poverty to business and global warming, and even the tech stuff looks great.

I came across the Friday Night Comedy Podcast from the BBC recently. NewsQuiz is great as is The Now Show. Why is political satire simply the best form of entertainment available?
Sorry for the silence. But the viva got me consumed for a while, then the ensuing minor corrections (yes, I passed) were hanging over me. But now, it’s almost in the past. The final version has been approved and sent off for printing and binding. Submission is in about 10 days. What a journey!

Remember those guys going round the US asking people where to attack next, and getting all manner of curious responses from ignoramuses who couldn’t tell the difference between Australia and Iran on a map? Well, they have a show, and apparently it’s been going on for a few years down under. This is the political satire I’ve missed since BBC Radio 4’s Weekending went off air. These guys are hilarious!
